Governance Charter

How Mizan
governs itself.

Mizan is a “Common Good” — providing universal access to ancient philosophical frameworks through the lens of modern logic. Power is distributed, not concentrated.

Ethical Constitution

1

Intellectual Sovereignty

The platform shall never mandate belief; it shall only provide logical tools for the user's own deconstruction of reality.

2

Privacy as a Right

User data is a sacred trust. No feature shall be implemented that compromises the Privacy-by-Design mandate.

3

The Anti-Exploitation Rule

The platform remains ad-free and data-mining free. Revenue must strictly follow the Value-for-Value model.

Governance Tiers

To prevent rigidity, power is distributed across three tiers:

The Founders

The Guardians

Role: Initial curators and technical stewards.

Authority: Holds Veto Power over any proposal that violates the Ethical Constitution.

Sunset Clause: Founders' veto power diminishes by 10% annually as the DAO reaches Wisdom Weight milestones.

The Architects

The DAO Members

Role: Holders of Mizan Architect Soulbound Tokens (SBTs).

Authority: Proposing and voting on Wisdom Improvement Proposals (WIPs), including new text integration and UI changes.

Driven by Quadratic Voting — preventing minority takeovers and wealth-based influence.

The Stewards

Moderators

Role: Community-elected logic moderators.

Authority: Enforcing the Discourse Standards — ensuring the community remains a space for philosophy, not dogma or hate speech.

Wisdom Improvement Proposals (WIPs)

All proposals follow the Standard Procurement Lifecycle:

01

Submission

A proposal is submitted to the Digital Majlis for a 7-day discussion period.

02

Refinement

The proposer must address logical critiques from the community.

03

The Vote

A 72-hour voting window using Snapshot (Gasless).

04

Execution

Successful votes are queued for a 48-hour Timelock before automatic deployment.

The Social Equity Treasury

80 / 20

20% of all voluntary contributions flow into the Mizan Treasury, managed entirely by DAO vote. Funds must be used for infrastructure maintenance, open-source translations, or global social impact projects aligned with the Environmental or Equity pillars.

Compliance & Data Governance

GDPR / UK DPA

All governance activity is pseudonymous. No PII is required for participation.

Legal Entity

The DAO operates under the Mizan Foundation wrapper, providing a legal shield for community architects.

Transparency Ledger

Every governance decision and treasury spend is recorded on a public, immutable ledger.

Amendment Process

This Charter may only be amended by a Super-Majority (75%) vote of the Architects, provided the amendment does not conflict with the Core Principles in the Ethical Constitution.
